The Mandalorian and Grogu released in theatres on May 22, 2026, and if you've already seen it or you're just deep in the hype, you already know the feeling. The armour, the desert planets, the cinematic wide shots, the quiet emotional moments between a bounty hunter and his small green companion. It's the kind of visual universe that makes you wish if you could step inside it.
With PhotoGPT's Star Wars preset, you actually can. Not as Din Djarin or Grogu specifically, but as your own version of that world. A space warrior built around your face, your identity, your energy. Galactic armour, weathered helmets, desert planet backdrops and cinematic sci-fi lighting, all generated from a simple photo of yourself.
This is how you create your own Star Wars inspired AI photos and videos.
How to Create your Star Wars Inspired AI Photo
Step 1: Train your personal AI model
Go to the PhotoGPT model training dashboard and upload 10 to 15 clear photos of yourself. Different angles, different lighting, different expressions. This is what makes PhotoGPT different from a generic AI image tool.
Step 2: Wait for your model to train
Takes around 15 to 20 minutes. Use the time to rewatch the trailer.
Step 3: Choose the Star Wars Preset
Head to the preset library and select the Star Wars preset. The galactic armor aesthetic is already built in so you don't need to construct a complex prompt from scratch. If you are new to presets, the How to Use Presets guide explains the full workflow.
Step 4: Pick your look
Decide what kind of image you want. Full body armor portrait, desert planet wide shot, spaceship hangar look, or movie poster composition. Each gives you a completely different result.
Step 5: Generate and save
Hit generate from the image generation dashboard, pick your favourite result and download it.
Best Star Wars Inspired AI Photo Ideas
The Star Wars preset handles the core armor, desert planet, and cinematic sci-fi styling. If you want to make the mood more specific, use the prompt writing guide to shape the lighting, camera angle, and background.
Mandalorian Inspired Armor Portrait
This is the most iconic look you can create with this preset. Weathered metallic helmet, reflective beskar style armor, a flowing cape, dramatic rim lighting behind you. It's bold, cinematic and looks genuinely incredible as a profile picture or poster.
Example Prompt Add-On: Medium portrait of a space bounty hunter wearing weathered dark metallic armor with visible battle damage and scratches, flowing sandy brown cape draped over shoulders, desert rocky canyon background, dramatic golden hour rim lighting from behind, dust particles in the air, cinematic close up, photorealistic, 8k
Desert Planet Poster
Wide shot, two suns low on the horizon, dust catching the light, a lone figure standing in the middle of it all. This composition is one of the most recognisable in the entire Star Wars universe and it translates beautifully into an AI generated image.
Example Prompt Add-On: Full body cinematic wide shot of a lone space warrior standing on a vast desert planet, twin suns low on the horizon, warm orange and amber lighting, dust storm atmosphere in the distance, rocky canyon formations, flowing cape catching the wind, dramatic movie poster composition, epic scale, photorealistic, 8k
Galactic Bounty Hunter Look
Dark armour, a weapon holster at the hip, a spaceship hangar stretching out behind you, moody blue and orange lighting. This one has a grittier, more dangerous energy than the straight armour portrait and works especially well for reels and social media content.
Example Prompt Add-On: Full body portrait of a galactic bounty hunter in dark weathered armor with a weapon holster at the hip, standing inside a massive spaceship hangar bay, moody blue and orange neon lighting reflecting off the armor surface, smoke and fog in the background, cinematic wide angle, gritty sci-fi atmosphere, photorealistic, 8k
Baby Yoda Companion Scene
This is the emotional one. You in full armor, baby Yoda is beside you in a floating pod, warm soft lighting, the kind of quiet moment that made everyone fall in love with this universe in the first place. It's also one of the most shareable formats because it tells a story in a single image.
Example Prompt Add-On: Cinematic portrait of a space warrior in full weathered armor and cape, kneeling beside a small green alien like creature sitting inside a floating round pod, warm soft golden lighting, emotional quiet moment, rocky desert landscape background, shallow depth of field, photorealistic, 8k

FAQ
1. Can I create Mandalorian style AI photos without any Star Wars knowledge?
Yes. You don't need to know anything about Star Wars to use the preset. PhotoGPT's Star Wars preset is already built around the space warrior aesthetic including the armor, desert planets, cinematic lighting and bounty hunter atmosphere. Just upload your photos, train your model and generate.
2. Do I need a long prompt to use the Star Wars preset?
No. The preset handles the core Star Wars styling automatically. But adding short details like armor color, background setting, lighting mood or pose direction helps PhotoGPT create a more specific result. For example adding "desert planet background, golden hour lighting, full body shot" gives you a more cinematic output than leaving the prompt empty. The prompt guide has examples you can adapt.
3. What photos should I upload before generating Star Wars AI images?
Upload 10 to 15 clear well lit photos where your face is visible. Use a mix of angles, expressions and lighting conditions. Avoid heavy filters, sunglasses covering your face and blurry selfies because they make it harder for the model to learn your identity accurately. The input image selection guide covers this in more detail.
4. Can I create both male and female Star Wars looks?
Yes. You can prompt for different armor styles, cape colors, outfit variations and character types. The preset works for both male and female warriors. You can go for a classic Mandalorian bounty hunter look, a sleek silver armor style, a desert warrior aesthetic or a dark neon bounty hunter vibe depending on what you add to the prompt.
5. Will my face be visible in the generated images or will it be covered by the helmet?
By default the Star Wars preset may generate a helmeted look. To make sure your face stays visible add "no helmet, face clearly visible" to your prompt. This keeps your identity preserved while still giving you the full galactic armour aesthetic.
